This piece is a commentary on changing social norms in the busy landscapes of our lives, as well as our individual struggles to strive for simple beauty, divinity, and peace.  I challenged myself to depict the three dimensional form using only two colors - no small task.  After months of sketching, adding and substracting elements until I was satisfied, this was the result.  I then struggled to make her extraordinary by swatching different color combinations that would enhance and surprise the viewer.
With these paint choices and pigment mixing, she looks different depending on lighting and time of day, from bright gold to dark orange copper tones on a lux, matt, dark blue background. Her eyes are fixated on the viewer with a casual yet serious, omnipotent gaze. Upon closer inspection, New York City influence is depicted in her torso.
